Polarion X – What’s New and Noteworthy

We are pleased to announce the launch of Polarion X 2410, our latest release that builds upon the foundation of Polarion 2410. (To explore the complete list of updates and improvements for Polarion 2410, please visit Polarion ALM 2410 – What’s New and Noteworthy.)
Polarion X 2410 introduces:
- Polarion Scripting – Polarion X customers can now create and manage save hook and workflow scripts directly from Polarion Administration.
- Admin Console – New Customers will leverage the Siemens Xcelerator’s Admin console for user management and license assignment.
- In-app Guidance – Content has been enhanced to further support user onboarding and help.
- Customer Feedback – It’s now even easier to send feedback while using Polarion X.
- New Polarion X Tiers – We renamed Polarion X’s Tiers to align with other Siemens Xcelerator solutions, like Teamcenter X, Capital X and NX X.
- New AWS Region Support – For our Southeast Asian customers in Singapore.
Let’s take a closer look at all the new features and enhancements included in Polarion X 2410.
Introducing Polarion Scripting for process tailoring
Polarion Scripting now offers even greater flexibility, allowing users to automate and tailor business processes and workflow rules like never before. Creating, importing, and reusing scripts provides a new level of modularity, making it easier to extend Polarion’s functionality to meet specific business needs.

Siemens Xcelerator Admin Console for user and license Management
For new Polarion X 2410 customers, we moved license management out of Polarion Administration and into Siemens’ robust Xcelerator Admin Console for managing SaaS products.

Note: If you’re an existing Polarion X customer, you can still manage your licenses in Polarion Administrator, and we will contact you in the future about migrating to Admin Console.
In the Admin Console, users are assigned an appropriate license based on their entitlements in the Siemens Entitlement Service after successful authentication.
Any updates to a user’s license within the Siemens Entitlement Service are reflected in Polarion X the next time they log in. Users lacking a valid license in the Siemens Entitlement Service cannot log in to Polarion X, while new users with a valid license will be created after their first login attempt.
This change ensures a consistent user experience across the Siemens PLM portfolio.

In-app guidance for user onboarding and help
For some time, Polarion X has been providing users with a comprehensive onboarding experience through interactive guidance on essential features and functionalities.
With step-by-step walkthroughs and access to a Help Menu, users can reduce their learning curve and become proficient in using Polarion X quickly and confidently.
This approach not only enhances productivity but also ensures that users have immediate access to necessary resources and support whenever they need it. With this release, we’ve enriched our content to further support users.
To kickstart their journey, new Polarion X users are greeted with a “Getting Started” tutorial, offering an engaging tour of key functionalities within the application.

Users seeking ongoing assistance can easily access content from the Global Repository Home Page. Simply click on the Polarion X logo located at the top left corner of the screen and select the “Need Help” banner at the bottom right
. Here, they can find materials such as the “Getting Started” guide, support and product resources, and a general FAQ section.

This release also introduces content specifically tailored for Administrators, assisting them with everyday tasks such as managing roles and permissions.

In the future, we will continue adding more content to make user onboarding even easier.
Customer Feedback
We have added an easy way for users to provide essential feedback while using Polarion X. Rather than distributing separate surveys, we incorporated brief questions that appear 90 days after a user’s initial login.
Objectives:
- Evaluate user experience effectiveness.
- Identify potential user challenges.
- Collect real-time feature-specific feedback.
Benefits:
- Your feedback helps prioritize improvements that matter most to users.
- Support teams can better understand common usage patterns.
- Product updates can be based on actual user experiences.
- Problems can be identified and fixed more rapidly.
We designed our feedback mechanism to be as minimal and non-disruptive as possible, and your responses help make the kind of improvements to Polarion you most want to see.

Based on user engagement metrics, we may introduce a permanent feedback option in upcoming releases, enabling users to share their insights at their convenience.
Polarion X Tiers Renamed
We’re announcing a change in the naming of Polarion X Tiers to align them with other Siemens Xcelerator solutions:
- Polarion X Base is now Polarion X Essentials
- Polarion X Pro is now Polarion X Standard
- Polarion X Enterprise is now Polarion X Advanced
These new names are intended to provide better clarity and consistency across Siemens’ offerings. Each tier continues to offer the same suite of features and capabilities as before.
